BMI and OBESITY

Body Mass Index (BMI) is a number calculated from a person’s weight and height. BMI provides a reliable indicator of body fat for most individuals, and is used to screen for weight categories that may lead to health problems (CDC). Between 1990 and 2010, there was a dramatic increase in obesity in the United States.  This epidemic is coming at a very high cost to our quality of life, with financial repercussions as well. Obesity is within our power to control, we are going to do our best to help America defeat this horrible disease.
